Childcare check-in software that clears the drop-off line by 8:05.
Parents scan a code or tap six digits. The child is in, the room count updates, the teacher is notified and attendance writes itself. No clipboard, no smudged signature, no reconstructing Tuesday on Friday afternoon.

The clipboard by the door is costing you more than you think.
Every center has the same three problems, and they all start at the same table by the front door.
Seven minutes of line at 8am
One pen, one sheet, twelve parents. The queue backs into the parking lot while your lead teacher stands at the door instead of in the room.
Times nobody can actually read
Handwritten in and out times are the first thing a licensing visitor asks for and the hardest thing to produce. Half of them are illegible and some were filled in after the fact.
Ratios you discover late
Paper does not count. By the time somebody adds up the room, you have already been out of ratio for twenty minutes.
A daycare check-in system that fits how your families arrive.
Some parents park and walk in. Some pull up to the curb with a sleeping baby in the back. MyKidReports handles both, and your staff never have to ask which.
QR code scan
Parents scan the code on the kiosk with their own phone camera. No app to install, nothing to download, works on the first try.
Six-digit code
Every parent and staff member gets a personal code. Tap it on the screen and you are in. Faster than finding a signature line.
Room device mode
Put a tablet in the classroom and teachers check children in and out as they move between rooms. The count follows the child.
Contactless curbside
Parents check in from their own phone before they reach the door. Ideal for car lines and for anyone who does not want to touch a shared screen.
Signature capture
Turn signatures on for drop-off, pick-up or both. Every one is stored with a timestamp and exports as a PDF when licensing asks.
Your own check-in questions
Health screening, who is collecting today, sunscreen applied. Write your own questions, choose the rooms, keep the answers by date.
The screen knows who is allowed to take this child home.
Photos, not a name on a list. If the person at the door is not approved, check-out does not complete without a staff override — and the override is logged.

BlockedEvery check-in quietly runs four other things.
This is the difference between a check-in app and a childcare management platform. The arrival is not the end of the job — it is the start of four.
Attendance writes itself
Daily rosters, absences and licensing reports build from real timestamps, not from memory.
Ratios update instantly
The room count changes the second a child is checked in, and the screen tells you before you are out of ratio.
Hours feed billing
Late pick-up fees, hourly rates and drop-in charges calculate from the actual times captured at the door.
Parents get the confirmation
A drop-off notification goes to the parent's phone with the time, so the second-guessing on the drive to work stops.

You do not need new hardware. Any tablet, laptop or spare phone becomes the kiosk.
Add your rooms
Name each room and set the state ratio it has to hold. That one number drives every alert afterwards.
Import your families
We migrate children, parents and authorized pickup contacts from your current system at no charge.
Open the kiosk
Open the kiosk link on a tablet and stand it by the door. Parents get their six-digit code by text.
Retire the clipboard
Run both for a week if it helps. Most centers stop printing the sheet after three days.
Check-in is included. It is not an add-on.
Some platforms charge separately for a kiosk, for signature capture, or per device. We do not sell the platform in pieces.
Check-in is one part of a full childcare and preschool management suite.
MyKidReports is not a check-in app with extras bolted on. It runs the whole center — and everything below is under the same login, at the same price, with nothing charged per module.

Everything about childcare check-in software, answered.
How do parents check a child in?
Two taps. A parent scans the QR code on the kiosk with their phone, or types their own six-digit code on the screen. The child is checked in, the timestamp is recorded, and the classroom teacher sees the arrival on the room device immediately. There is no app to open and no password to remember at 8am.
Do you have a contactless or curbside check-in option?
Yes. Parents can check in from their own phone before they reach the door, so the drop-off happens at the curb and nobody touches a shared screen. Centers running car lines use it to move the queue while staff walk children in.
Can I capture a signature at check-in and check-out?
Yes. Signature capture can be turned on for drop-off, pick-up or both, and the signature is stored with the timestamp on the child's record. That is what most state licensing visits ask to see, and it exports as a PDF whenever you need it.
Can I ask health or screening questions during check-in?
Yes. You write your own check-in questions and choose which rooms they apply to. Temperature, symptoms, who is collecting today, whether sunscreen was applied — anything you need. The answers are saved against that day's record, so you can look back at any date.
How do I stop the wrong person collecting a child?
Every child has an authorized pickup list with photos. At check-out the screen shows who is approved, and anyone not on the list cannot complete the pick-up without a staff override. The override is logged with the staff member's name.
Does check-in feed attendance records and state licensing reports?
That is the point of it. Every check-in and check-out writes straight into attendance, so daily rosters, absence records and licensing reports build themselves. You can see the detail on our childcare attendance software page.
What happens if the internet drops during drop-off?
The kiosk keeps accepting check-ins and syncs the moment the connection returns. Nobody stands at the door waiting, and no arrival is lost.
Does the check-in time affect billing?
It can. Hours captured at check-in feed billing directly, so late pick-up fees, hourly rates and drop-in charges are calculated from real times instead of a staff member's memory at the end of the week.
Can I still print a paper sign-in sheet as a backup?
Yes. You can print a daily sign-in sheet from any date, and we also publish a free daycare sign-in and out sheet template if you want a paper copy on the clipboard by the door.
What does childcare check-in software cost?
MyKidReports is free forever for up to five children with no card required. Beyond that it is $0.99 per child per month, billed in tiers of ten — so 6–10 children is $9.90 a month and 21–30 is $29.70. Check-in is included at every tier, never a paid add-on.
Tomorrow morning, nobody has to hold the pen.
Set the kiosk up today and watch the 8am line disappear. Free for up to five children, and we move your data across for you.
